Delete your data
Every place Walkable keeps something, and the exact control that empties it. Most of it is one tap on your own phone.

Start here
There is no Walkable account, and no copy of your walking history on our servers — so there is nothing for us to delete on your behalf, and nothing we could restore if you change your mind. Deletion happens on your device, immediately, with Settings → Delete my Walkable data.
If you set up cloud backup, that lives in your Google account and has to be deleted separately. That is the one step people miss.
1. On your phone — immediate and complete
In the app: Settings → Delete my Walkable data. This permanently removes, from that phone:
- every walk, with its route, distance and times;
- photos, videos and voice notes saved on your walks;
- your saved places and reminders;
- your goals, streaks and learned walking rhythm;
- your local profile name and picture;
- your Walkable settings.
This cannot be undone. Walkable has no server copy to restore from.
What it deliberately leaves alone:
- Your Google Drive backup. Removing data from a phone should never silently reach into your Google account, so it does not — delete that separately, below.
- Downloaded offline map data. It contains nothing about you; it is a map of the area.
You can also delete a single walk from its own screen, if you only want one gone.
2. Your cloud backup — a separate step
Cloud backup is off until you set it up. If you did set it up, your walks are in the private app-data folder of your Google Drive, encrypted so that Google cannot read them — and they stay there until you remove them.
In the app: Settings → Cloud backup → Delete cloud backup. This works in every state, including before backup has been set up and when this phone can no longer read the backup — a backup you cannot open is still a backup you can delete.
A cloud backup survives uninstalling, because it is in your Google account rather than on the phone. Delete it in the app before you uninstall. If the app is already gone, you can remove Walkable’s app data from your Google account settings instead.
While you are there: the recovery key can be replaced at any time from Settings → Cloud backup. The backup does not move, and the old key stops working immediately.
If you turned on Walkable Recovery
Walkable Recovery is a second, separate backup option, off by default. If you switched it on, Settings also lets you pause backup, delete the cloud backup, disconnect your account, delete the recovery account entirely, sign out other devices, or export an encrypted copy to keep yourself.
3. Uninstalling, or clearing storage
Uninstalling Walkable, or Android Settings → Apps → Walkable → Storage → Clear storage, removes everything Walkable has stored on that device, including cached map data.
Nothing follows you to a new phone unless you choose it: Walkable opts out of Android’s automatic backup and of device-to-device transfer, so your walks, places, notes and photos are not copied into Google’s system backup and are not carried over by the “copy from your old phone” flow.
4. Something you posted in the Community
The Community is a website feature, separate from the app, and it is public. Because there is no account there is no delete button of your own — removal is an email, and we do it.
Write to Automat4ed@gmail.com with the subject Walkable Community Removal, telling us which post or reply you mean — a link is easiest. We may be unable to confirm a post was yours, since nothing there was tied to an identity in the first place; where a request is clearly about private information that should not be public, we act on it regardless. The Community Guidelines have the detail.
5. What this website keeps in your browser
A few small values, none of which identify you, and none of which are advertising cookies: the colour theme you picked, the language you picked, a random id for the support chat, and — if you have used the Community — a random browser id and the display name you chose.
Clearing your browsing data for this site removes all of them. The Community treats the browser as a new one afterwards. Visit counts are measured with Vercel Web Analytics, which is cookieless and stores nothing in your browser to clear.
6. A message you sent us
If you wrote to us through the in-app help or by email, we keep that message only as long as we need it to answer you. To have it removed sooner, ask — the address is below.
Asking us in writing
Because there is no Walkable account and no server-side copy of your walking history, there is normally nothing for us to delete on your behalf. To ask about data we do control, or for written confirmation of any of the above, email:
Automat4ed@gmail.com — subject Walkable Data Deletion Request
Tell us what you would like removed. We respond within 30 days. We may be unable to identify data as yours if it was never linked to an identifier, which is the ordinary consequence of an app that does not track you.
