- How do I record a walk without planning a route?Press start and walk. A route is optional and most walks do not need one.
- How does Walkable decide how long a suggested route is?You give it a target distance; it finds a real loop close to that on actual paths.
- Can I walk a route someone sent me?Yes. Opening a shared route link in Walkable loads it ready to walk.
- How do I plan a better walk close to home?Start from how long you want to be out, let a loop be generated, and aim it somewhere unfamiliar.

- Will my walk be saved if I lose internet during a walk?Yes. Recording never uses the internet, so losing signal changes nothing about it.
- Why can't Walkable create a route in my area?Either there is no connection and no prepared offline map, or the area has too few mapped paths.
- What changes when the connection drops mid-walk?The recording carries on regardless. Guidance and rerouting carry on too, in an area you prepared.
Backup and recovery

- How do I back up my walks?Connect your Google Drive and set up encrypted backup. Keep the recovery key — it is the only way back in.
- Is Google Drive backup automatic?Only once you switch it on. Nothing is uploaded until you connect an account and set it up.
- What is included in a backup?Your walks, routes, places and settings — and media only if you turned that on.
- Are photos and videos included?Only if you turned media backup on. It is a separate switch and it starts off.
- How do I restore my walks on a new phone?If you have an existing Drive backup, connect the same Google account and restore from it.
- How do I move Walkable to another phone?Through an encrypted Drive backup. Android's own transfer deliberately will not carry your walks.
- How do I export and import my data?A standalone export file is not available in the public app yet. Today the Drive backup is the only route.
- What should I do if my backup is not appearing?Check the Google account first — it is the cause almost every time.
- What happens if local and restored data are different?Walkable asks you before writing anything, and tells you what each choice costs.
- How do I delete my local Walkable data?Settings has a delete-everything control. It clears the phone and cannot be undone.
Memories, history and stats

- How do I add a photo, video, note or voice memory?From the walk screen while you are out, or from the walk afterwards in your history.
- Where are my past walks stored?On your phone, in Walkable's own private storage. Nowhere else.
- How do I view my walking history?Open the history section to see every walk, with filters to find a particular one.
- How do walking statistics work?Counted on your phone from your recorded walks. Nothing is compared to anyone else.
- How do habits and streaks work?Walkable notices when you walk regularly and encourages it gently. Missing a day costs nothing real.
- How do I delete a walk?Open the walk in your history and delete it. It goes immediately and permanently.
- Can I move my memories to another phone?Yes, through a Drive backup with 'Include photos & audio' switched on.
Privacy and your data
What stays on your phone, what leaves it, and what we could not hand over if asked.

- Does Walkable track me?No. It records the walks you ask it to, on your phone, and never watches you in the background unless you switch that on yourself.
- Does Walkable sell my data?No — and structurally it could not, because it does not hold your walking data.
- Where are my walks stored?In Walkable's private storage on your phone. There is no server copy.
- Does Walkable know my name or email?No. There is no account, so there is nowhere for a name or email to be stored.
- What happens when I share a walk?Only what you chose to share goes, and live sharing expires by itself.
- What information is included in a shared walk?The walk's shape and the details you left on. Never your history or your identity.
- How do I control what I share?Switch details off before sharing, and end a live share whenever you like.
- Why does Walkable not require an account?Because the only way to guarantee data is not misused is not to hold it.
- What do I give up by not having an account?No sync between devices, no recovery by us, and a lost phone takes your history unless backup is on.

- How do I share a walk?Make an image of the walk, choose what it shows, and send it however you like.
- How do I share a route privately?Hand it over with a code that lives for seconds and can be claimed once.

- How do I report a map problem?Tell Walkable Support what and where — a missing path, a wrong route, a closed way.

- What is the difference between Guides and Community?Guides are verified answers from us. Community is walkers talking to each other.
Troubleshooting
Grey maps, missing locations, walks that did not save, and batteries that drain.

- Walkable cannot find my locationCheck the location permission, then give the GPS half a minute outdoors.
- The map is grey or not loadingNo connection and no offline map for that area. Your walk is still recording.
- My route starts from the wrong locationThe first GPS fix had not settled. Wait outdoors before starting.
- Navigation gives an unexpected instructionUsually a reroute after drifting, or map data that does not match the ground.
- My walk was not savedUsually the walk was never finished, or the system stopped the app mid-walk.
- My battery is draining quicklyGPS and the screen are the cost. Pocket the phone and let guidance speak.
- Notifications are not appearingCheck the notification permission, and allow exact alarms for timed reminders.
- My backup is not visibleUsually the wrong Google account — a different account is a different Drive.
- Walkable is not working offlineThe offline map for that area is missing or incomplete.
