How do I share a route privately?
Short answer
Walkable can hand a route to someone standing next to you through a code on your screen that their phone reads. It lives for about ten seconds, can be collected once, and the route travels encrypted — the server that carries it cannot read what it is carrying.

Why it works this way
Sharing a route means sending a path, and a path can say a great deal about where somebody lives or walks. So the handover is built to be brief and single-use rather than a link that lives forever in a chat history.
The key that decrypts the route only ever exists in the code on your screen — it travels from your screen to their camera and never through any server.
What the other person receives
The route: its path, distance and turns. Nothing about you, and nothing about your other walks.
