What happens if I leave the route?
Short answer
Walkable notices, works out a route from where you now are, and carries on guiding you. It does not tell you to turn around, and your walk keeps recording the whole time — including the detour.

Leaving the route is normal
People cross the road early, follow an interesting side street, or step around something. A guidance system that treated every one of those as an error would be exhausting, so Walkable treats your position as correct and the route as the thing that needs updating.
Your walk is unaffected
Recording is independent of navigation. The path saved to your history is where you actually went, detour included — the planned route was only ever a suggestion.
