Is Trail Scout the same as Walkable?

Short answer

No. They are two separate apps. Walkable is for walking; Trail Scout is for documenting trails so other people can walk them. You do not need Trail Scout to use Walkable, and most Walkable users will never install it.

What they share

The same values: no accounts for ordinary use, data kept local by default, nothing uploaded without a deliberate act. Trail Scout also asks for location only while recording, and never in the background.

What they do not share

Your walks. A Walkable walking history is not visible to Trail Scout and is never submitted anywhere. Installing one does not send anything from the other.
