Can I pause and resume a walk?

Short answer

Yes. Pause when you stop for a coffee or a long conversation, and Walkable stops counting time and distance until you resume. The walk stays open and finishes as one walk.

What pausing does

It stops the clock and stops adding to the distance. A long café stop in the middle of a walk therefore does not turn a forty-minute walk into a two-hour one.

What it does not do

It does not end the walk or split it in two. When you resume, you continue the same walk, and it appears in your history as one entry.

You do not have to pause. Walkable can tell the difference between walking and standing still, so a short wait at a crossing needs nothing from you.
