What happens if local and restored data are different?
Short answer
Walkable stops and asks. If the phone already has walks that the backup does not, it shows you what is on each side and what each option would cost before changing anything. Nothing is overwritten silently.

Why it asks
The dangerous case is quiet: restoring a two-week-old backup onto a phone you have been walking with, and losing two weeks without noticing. Walkable would rather interrupt you than let that happen.
What you are choosing between
Keeping what is on the phone and cancelling the restore. Combining both, so nothing is lost from either side. Or replacing what is on the phone with the backup, which is occasionally what you want and is clearly labelled as the option that discards.
If restoring would lose walks, Walkable says so explicitly before you confirm.
